Remember the 2000 Subway Series

Back in October 26 2000, two crosstown rival baseball teams met for the MLB (Major Baseball League) 2000 World Series. The National League (NL) champion New York Mets and two-time defending World Series champions and American League (AL) champion New York Yankees made their presence felt at Shea Stadium and Yankee Stadium.

The New York Yankees won this series 4-1 at the Shea Stadium before a crowd of 55,000 fans. Derek Jeter (New York Yankees) was proclaimed MVP of the series.

Interesting note that the Yankees is the first team in baseball to win three consecutive championships since the 1972–1974 Oakland Athletics, plus the first professional sports team to accomplish a three feat since the 1996–1998 Jordan and Pippen led Chicago Bulls.

That year was last time the Yankees won a series as they lost the 2001 World Series to the Arizona Diamondbacks and the 2003 World Series to the Florida Marlins.

Visit to the Church Of Morong

It has become part of our family tradition to get out of Manila during the Easter holiday break. Last year, we all went to Baler, Aurora Province, which was nearly a whole day ride for us. Rene Bernal and Nady Nacario went with us, together with Felicianos (Max and Grace and their son, Kai). This year, we went to a much shorter destination. But the number of vehicles on the road also heading up north, either to Baguio or Ilocos simply bogged down traffic at entry and exit points. Nevertheless, our kids found a few moments of prayers around the Church of Morong. Residents say that this church is around 400 years old. We arrived here around 3pm, just in time for the Holy Mass. Guess, the Lord led us to this Church.
